Max Roach the Inspirer

Thank you to everyone who came out and heard my trio at Zinc Bar on Tuesday! We had a great turnout for both sets, with every seat filled, folks waiting in line and some in the standing room space to hear us play. It was an amazing night thanks to the amazing Zinc Bar staff.

My trio which included Lonnie Plaxico and Dwayne Cook Broadax, played music from Swingin' Up In Harlem like, "St.Thomas" (Rollins) and "Living For The City" (Wonder) and the title cut (video below of this!). . .

We also paid tribute to Barry Harris "Blues For Barry Harris" Donny Hathaway "Someday We'll All Be Free", and a Wayne Shorter medley that included "Dance Cadaverous" and Speak No Evil".
