In 2019 Harris released You Can’t Lose With The Blues (Savant). This record became an instant fixture with jazz aficionados, spending 2 weeks at No. 1 on the JazzWeek radio chart, and was the No. 3 played jazz album o 2020!
Bend To The Light features Lonnie Plaxico and Willie Jones III and Hangin’ With The Big Boys has a special guest, Houston Person. His newest CD: You Can’t Lose With The Blues, is on Savant Records.
Lafayette is featured on 3 CDs by Mr. Person: “The Melody Lingers On”.
His original composition: “You Can’t Lose With The Blues” was one of the most-played tunes on the radio. “The Melody Lingers On” went to #2 on Jazzweek. He is also on November 2017 release Rain Or Shine. The newest one is “I’m Just A Lucky So-And-So” at #8!
Way back in 1993 his former teacher and mentor Kenny Barron referred him to master drummer Max Roach. This new relationship resulted in almost 10 years of touring and collaborating, prompting Mr. Roach to describe Lafayette as a “phenomenal new voice on the music scene today.”
